About Us
Our Philosophy
We believe that wellness is not a luxury—it is a necessity. Our studio exists to create space for restoration in the rhythm of daily life.
Our Beginning
The Little Pigeon Story
Little Pigeon Massage and Waxing is dedicated to providing a serene and rejuvenating experience for our clients at reasonable pricing. Our philosophy revolves around the belief that true wellness comes from addressing the needs of the mind, body, and spirit.
Our team is committed to delivering personalized care and creating a tranquil environment where you can escape the stresses of everyday life. We combine traditional techniques with intuitive touch to create treatments that address your specific concerns while guiding you into deep relaxation.
Today, Little Pigeon serves as Carlton's neighbourhood sanctuary, where locals come not just for treatments, but for the rare gift of being truly looked after in a space that feels both elevated and approachable.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Little Pigeon is dedicated to providing a serene and rejuvenating experience with reasonable pricing. We believe that true wellness comes from addressing the needs of the mind, body, and spirit.
Intentional Care
Every touch, every product choice, every moment of your visit has been considered. We don't believe in routines—we believe in responding to what your body needs in the present moment.
Inclusive Wellness
Our studio welcomes all bodies, all genders, all backgrounds. We believe that restorative care should be accessible and comfortable for everyone who walks through our door.
Sustainable Practice
From our organic treatment oils to our eco-friendly linens and recycling program, we operate with respect for both your body and our shared environment.
Continuous Growth
Our therapists regularly pursue advanced training in new techniques and modalities. We believe the best care comes from practitioners who never stop learning.
Technical Knowledge
Massage Techniques
Our therapists are trained in a range of specialised techniques, each serving different therapeutic purposes.
Tapotement
Rhythmic percussion movements using cupped hands, fingers, or the edge of the hand. Stimulates circulation, awakens the nervous system, and tones muscles.
Pincement
Gentle lifting and squeezing of tissue between thumb and fingers. Improves skin elasticity, stimulates lymphatic flow, and relieves surface tension.
Tapping & Hacking
Quick, light percussion using fingertips (tapping) or the ulnar side of the hand (hacking). Invigorates muscles and stimulates blood flow to deep tissue.
Cupping & Beating
Cupped-hand movements creating suction (cupping) and loose-fist percussion (beating). Particularly effective for large muscle groups like thighs and back.
Effleurage
Long, gliding strokes that warm tissue and distribute oil. The foundation of Swedish massage, promoting circulation and relaxation.
Petrissage
Kneading movements that lift and roll muscle tissue. Releases deep tension, improves muscle tone, and enhances metabolic exchange.
Our Space
Designed for Restoration
Every element of our studio has been chosen to promote calm: natural linen textures, soft amber lighting, the subtle scent of Australian botanicals, and the quiet hum of a space designed for stillness.
